The ZeosLib project operates according to the performance principle: the more you do, the more responsibility you will obtain. This page lists all the people who have gone the extra mile and are active developers of the ZeosLib project development team. If you would like to get involved, the first step is to join the mailing lists.
Please do not send us emails privately asking for support. We are non-paid volunteers who help out with the project and we do not necessarily have the time or energy to help people on an individual basis. Instead, we have setup forums which often contain hundreds of individuals who will help answer detailed requests for help. The benefit of using forums over private communication is that it is a shared resource where others can also learn from common mistakes and as a community we all grow together.
The ZeosLib team currently consists of three groups:
Group 1: Development (product development)
Janos Fegyverneki (MS SQL, Sybase)
Janos started development with version 6.0. He made a great contribution to the new ZeosDBO components architecture. His MS SQL and Sybase drivers are truly the most stable part of the library.
Sergey Merkuriev (InterBase / Firebird)
Sergey joined the project in 2001. Since that time he was involved in the development of almost all project software. The current version of InterBase and Firebird support is written by him. Moreover he does invaluable work with test cases and users support.
Group 2: Quality assurance (tests, bug reports, release preparation)
Sergey Merkuriev (Coordinator)
Dragos Dobrota (C++ Builder support)
Dragos joined the project in March 2003 and now handles the integration with C++ Builder.
Rafael Franco Carvalho (Kylix support)
Rafael is a computer professional from Brazil. He is doing his best to port the project to Kylix compilers for Linux based platforms.
Team 3: Support (public relations, documentation, support)
Frank Linde (Coordinator)
Frank is an experienced computer professional from Germany. He joined the project as a technical writer and web admin. In 2003 he accepted our proposal to take responsibility for public relations, documentation and user support.
Maarten Bremer (Technical writer)
Maarten is a computer professional from the Netherlands. He joined the team in 2003 and works on documentation.
Merlin Moncure (Marketing)
Merlin works with ZeosLib since the first versions and knows the internals very well. He helped us a lot in the past, but was outside the project. In 2003 he accepted our proposal to join the development team.
Natalya Shyyka (Web admin/designer)
Natalya is not only a physician by profession, but also she is a good web designer and big expert in PHPNuke. Our current project web-site based on the PHPNuke engine was primary done due to her great efforts.
Sorin Aghinitei (Web admin)
Sorin started with ZeosLib in 2000. The first project website was developed and maintained by him. After the project was reborn Sorin came back and did his best to convert the project web site into an important information resource by linking the project with the rest of the world.
